National Summer Steamup 2009 – Friday

  The big pull: Seventy-four Accucraft box cars (and refers) and pulled by Seth Abramham’s Accucraft AC-5 Cab Foward. Matt Abreu and Dennis Bowie are in the background, prepping up Matt’s AC-5 to be a pusher.

  As the Big Pull continues, an Accucraft GS-4 in Daylight livery pulls ahead on the inside track.
  Dan Pantages fires up his Aster Great Northern S2.   Chris Ranieri is somewhat startled by her Ruby on the PCLS track.
  Rob Lenicheck’s scratch-built RGS No. 14 0-6-0 switcher zooms by on the Paso Robles track.
  Steve Heselton starts loading charcoal into his modified Accucraft K-27.
  The Frank Krutzke-modified K-27 smokes a bit when the charcoal gets started.
  Inside the firebox of the K-27, things look pretty hot.
  Steve and his engine are under steam.
  Roundhouse Wrenkin rounds the bend.
  Chris Coley sets up his Aster Grasshopper; it’s pretty close to leaving the station.
  Eric Maschwitz’ heavily modified Regner loco is being prepped, complete with a full set of tools.
  Tony Dixon’s coal-fired Duchess rounds the bend.
